The Business
One Typical Day is designed to help students figure out their first careers, through a digital platform, with ‘day in the life’ videos, high-quality careers insights and innovative content creation.
The challenge
One Typical Day was developed as a direct response to the evolving needs of students and young professionals. As a careers author and writer, I’d been hearing from students for years about the types of content they wanted to see, and I saw there was a gap in the market!
When we joined Amplify, we were looking for support in the form of mentoring and growing our network. As a sole founder, I was going through the process of raising investment and other growth-based challenges, and I was looking for a supportive group to share my journey with.
The result – how the programme helped
The programme was hugely supportive in terms of building a group of founders at a similar stage and with similar aims and ambitions. It was so useful to share ideas and get strategic insight from other business owners.
In terms of impact, we reworked our mission statement during the programme (in particular, to enhance our focus on sustainability). We are also now partnered with the University of the Arts London (UAL) to explore the use of immersive technology as a sustainable form of graduate recruitment.
I had a fantastic experience on the Amplify programme – as an early-stage founder, it was so helpful to have the business support and network as I develop my venture. What stands out the most is the community aspect. More than any other accelerator or programme I’ve done, Amplify built up a strong and supportive network between founders. For anyone starting an early-stage, impact-focused venture, I’d highly recommend it.”
