The Points of Intersection is a public art project for the Future Business Centre.
The project was developed to reflect the centre’s social and environmental commitment through the creation of three separate strands of public art activity:
- A collection of 2D and installed artwork, which is on public display within the centre and responds to environmental themes around nature, and sustainability.
- A central evocative commissioned piece of artwork, which creatively reflects the support the centre has received from its funders and supporters.
- Public facing installation artwork, which is designed to respond, connect and engage with the community.
Our selected artists were commissioned to engage in a number of exciting and ambitious ways.
The People's Picture (Helen Marshall)
The people’s picture
The people’s picture montage, is permanently installed in the atrium of the Future Business Centre and can be viewed by members of the public Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays.
Thanks to funders, tenants and the local community, the Future Business Centre story and people’s own images influenced by the Centre have been immortalised in the central commissioned artwork.
Renowned artist Helen Marshall was commissioned to produce the main piece of art in the atrium of the Future Business Centre, which is a photomontage of over 3,500 photos taken by anyone and everyone associated with the Future Business Centre. The artwork will also pay tribute to the funders and supporters of the building and will be part of a creative wall of support.
