Allia has partnered with Hackney Council to provide another year of high-quality support, workshops and mentoring for 145 small and micro businesses in Hackney to help them develop, grow and achieve their impact aims.
Over 2022, Allia will run a range of programmes that will help local entrepreneurs to bring their business ideas to life; support established small businesses to grow revenue and gain more customers; and work with pre-seed or seed impact start-ups that aim to address the most pressing local and global challenges.
Most excitingly, Allia has launched a brand new programme in Hackney – the Green Business Programme – for those looking to adopt more eco-friendly and sustainable business decisions. The new programme will support businesses to explore key issues that relate to the climate and learn to incorporate sustainable practices to reduce their carbon footprint. Over the year, the Green Business Programme will be run four times – with all businesses supported to create green action plans, track and monitor their impact and work towards a green industry accreditation.
With a strong track record in the borough, Allia has worked with Hackney Council since 2017, when it delivered its programmes from a Future Business Centre in the community for four successful years. Its support has continued and grown – including running online programmes throughout the Covid crisis for businesses directly affected by the lockdowns, to enable them to pivot and build resilience.

The Green Business Programme sets out to deliver the Mayor’s objective to help businesses in Hackney transition to low-carbon businesses and work towards a green industry accreditation whilst creating more sustainable jobs for local residents.”
