Allia Funding by the European Union | Future Business Centre

From European Regional Development Funding to local councils, we're grateful to many organisations that support us to do our work

European funding

We have been awarded funding from the European Regional Development Fund twice in the past, and were again in 2020. The finance has been to help us support hundreds of local businesses across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough through a range of free advice, mentoring and support programmes.

3 years of support

The latest funding by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) will enable Allia to deliver programmes in both locations until June 2023. Through the programmes, Allia aims to encourage and support entrepreneurship in the area, encouraging new impact products and services to be developed, creating new jobs and supporting the development of new business ideas that can transform into successful businesses.

In this time, Allia will deliver support to over 200 new and established enterprises, and support over 50 individuals looking to take the brave and exciting step towards creating their own businesses and impact ventures. In addition to the delivery of business support, the funding has enabled Allia to expand its Future Business Centre in Cambridge, in order to increase the availability of much-needed space to assist impact businesses to grow. The new building on the Cambridge Campus will open in September 2022, and offer offices, lab space, co-working and a large conference suite.

Other funders

We count ourselves as fortunate that we have a wide strategic network of organisations that value our work, and support us financially to deliver programmes. We’ve worked with Hackney Borough Council to provide business support in East London, and are also working with Tower Hamlets to deliver a Creative and Cultural Futures programme. For many years we’ve worked with Cambridge City Council to provide workshops and training to social enterprises and charities in the city. We are grateful to all of the local authorities and organisations that support us to support others.
