Case Study

Ripples (formerly Roundups)

The venture

We are a tech for good start-up transforming the way people give and interact with giving.

Our first product is Ripples: the app that links with your bank card to round up your payments, donate pennies and track your social impact as you spend.

The challenge – what inspired your venture

The realisation that UK charities were losing over £80m per year because of the decline in cash donations and the knowledge that technology could be used to enable digital versions of traditional loose-change giving.

We needed support and guidance in refining our value proposition, crystallising our route to market and finding investment.

The result – how the programme helped

The workshops were insightful. I particularly enjoyed the value proposition workshop. The Allia team always showed genuine interest in what we do and offered impeccable advice.

Above all, the Allia team have been kind, welcoming and all-round good people. They have been transparent and personable from the outset giving everybody warmth and support – not in the false, clichéd way that is common in the start-up ecosystem – but in a way that always felt very genuine.

Thank you, Allia, for creating a great atmosphere and programme!

“The Allia team has been really brilliant from start-to-finish. They always made time for us and made exceptional listeners and sounding boards. They regularly surprised us with thoughtful introductions out of the blue – to highly relevant mentors, industry leaders and investors.”
