The venture
Active Orbit is a tech for good business focussed on improving the health and happiness of people & communities. Our app is designed to help people get more active by rewarding them for their activities.
The challenge – what inspired your venture
I lost my parents to heart disease and cancer, diseases which can be preventable through activity and lifestyle changes. My co-founders have also experienced personal health challenges and we share a desire to help people to live healthier, longer lives.
Active Orbit was founded during the Covid lockdown – we saw a perfect opportunity to help people improve their physical and mental health through being active. However, this caused our biggest challenge – establishing a new business in the midst of a global pandemic!
The result – how the programme helped
The support provided by Allia team has been fantastic, and the mentors have been brilliant too. I enjoyed meeting other driven founders and also received introductions to partners, collaborators and funders which has been invaluable.
Throughout the programme we’ve increased our team from 3 to 12, launched our product, started a pilot testing phase across 3 regions, and secured some valuable partnerships. We’re now starting our first raise and feel very well prepared for the next stage in our journey.
“We highly recommend this programme to start-ups who want to grow quickly, with impact. Allia has strong values and dedication to supporting ventures, so whilst there’s a focus on growth there’s also a very strong drive to making the world a better place – a clear differentiator from other programmes which don’t allow enough space for founders to innovate.”
